Queen Favor-Wheeler
Daisy
Today I remember my mother Daisy Favor. Today was her birthday.
Her not being here in earthly form causes me to commune with her in spirit.
She passed on to me the wildness I once subdued but now thrive in. Those "I will never be like my mother" traits we daughters are so quick to abandon - I now reclaim.
I find that those traits used properly secure the life I've envisioned for myself. What a beautiful, volatile, complicated, mess the mother - daughter relationship is.
I saw the spectrum of light and darkness in my mother. In my mother I saw the human and therefore learned how to love all humans and fall in love with being human.
Today I sit in gratitude to a wild, dignified, feisty, direct talking flame we called Daisy, Grandma Daisy, Momma, Sister and Friend.
